Overview

AgentAtlas ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at agentatlas.pages.dev (the "Site"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you visit our Site, how we use that information, and the choices you have about your data.

We've written this policy in plain English rather than legalese wherever possible. If anything is unclear, please contact us and we'll explain further. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.

Data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the Site and improve our content. The categories of data we collect are:

  • Anonymous usage data. We use a privacy-focused analytics tool (Plausible Analytics) that records aggregated, non-identifying page views. We do not use cookies for analytics and we do not track individual users across sessions.
  • Information you provide voluntarily. If you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us via email, we collect the email address and any message content you provide. We do not collect names unless you include them in your message.
  • Technical data from your browser. When you visit the Site, your browser automatically sends us standard request data including IP address (truncated and anonymized), browser type, referring URL, and the page you requested. This data is used only for security and abuse prevention.
  • Cookie data. See our Cookie Policy for details. We use only essential cookies by default; advertising cookies (if any) require your opt-in consent.

We do not collect: precise geolocation data, biometric data, health data, financial account data, government identifiers, or data about your racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual characteristics. We do not sell personal data to third parties — ever.

How we use your data

We use the data we collect for these specific, limited purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our content.
  • To respond to your inquiries when you contact us.
  • To send our newsletter if you've subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email).
  • To monitor for security threats, fraud, and abuse.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.
  • To analyze aggregate usage trends to inform our editorial decisions (e.g., which topics to cover next).

We do not use your data to build profiles for targeted advertising, sell to data brokers, or share with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we process personal data only on the following legal bases:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — when you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, you consent to us processing the data you provide.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for anonymous analytics, security monitoring, and basic Site operation, our legitimate interest in operating a functional website overrides any minimal impact on your privacy.
  • Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) — where we are required to retain data by law (e.g., financial records).

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the Site. Each service has access only to the data needed to perform its function:

  • Cloudflare — our hosting and CDN provider. Cloudflare may process IP addresses for security and caching. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-focused analytics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not track individuals. See Plausible's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — we load web fonts from Google's CDN. Google may receive your IP address as part of this request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Email provider — if you subscribe to our newsletter, we use a third-party email service to deliver it. The provider has access to your email address for the sole purpose of delivering emails on our behalf.

If we add advertising in the future (e.g., Google AdSense), advertising partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads. We will update this policy and seek your consent before enabling any advertising cookies.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Newsletter subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing deletes your email address within 30 days.
  • Contact emails — retained for 24 months for customer service purposes, then deleted.
  • Analytics data — aggregated and anonymized within 24 hours of collection; raw data is not retained.
  • Server logs — retained for 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then automatically deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time (e.g., unsubscribe from newsletter).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us with the subject line "Privacy Request." We respond to all valid requests within 30 days. We do not charge a fee for handling privacy requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

California consumer rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, sell, or share.
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information.
  • The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is needed.
  • The right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Children's privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International data transfers

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) operates globally, which means your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards to ensure international transfers comply with applicable privacy laws. If you have questions about specific transfer mechanisms, contact us.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic, access controls on internal systems, and regular security reviews. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. We will notify affected users and relevant authorities of any data breach within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by GDPR.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
